Pomegranate Party

Design Project on fabric construction techniques of drawing inspiration by Nature

This project investigates unconventional methods of textile creation by exploring non-woven fabric construction techniques. The focus was on transforming the inherent character of existing textiles manipulating their structure, texture, and form to give rise to entirely new surfaces.  The project challenges traditional ideas of what a textile can be.The outcome is a series of experimental textiles that blur the line between surface and structure,These surfaces were then translated into a product concept, where the material’s tactile and expressive qualities serve both decorative and utilitarian functions.

Selecting pomegranate as an inspiration, a fun exercise on studying the pomegranate closely was conducted.  That involved cutting the fruit in different angles, sketching out the structure, discovering its very many aspects.
