Process

MACRO AND MICRO STUDY OF COMPANIES
This was a study on various print types . I first studied 5-10 companies who did interesting work and gauge the look, colourpallete, material, sillouttes, collectively known as "Design DNA" and selected Vivetta as the company I would be making prints for.

INSPIRATION
After looking for visual references on topics such as art, architecture, pottery, frescos, traditional craft traditions, illustrations, and galore, I decided to draw inspiration from Italian Brocades which would make a great inspiration for "Vivetta" being an Italian company.

NYMPHS
"nymphs" forest maidens that guard the forest in Greek and Roman mythology" were added in the print, just as Vivetta like to include people or some human aspect along with nature in their embroideries. the reference for nymphs was taken from John Waterhouse's paintings titled nymphs.

The next step was to sketch elements and compose them to make surface
Treatments
Different mediums and effects were tested to get different looks for the print, the colour schemes were drawn from old paintings.
